Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
Who we are
DashMeld ("we", "us", "our") is a news aggregation service operated from Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use dashmeld.com, why we collect it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect
We only collect data that you provide directly when creating an account:
- Email address — used to identify your account and send essential account notices (e.g. password reset).
- Name — optional first name used to personalise the interface.
We do not collect browsing behaviour, reading history, location data, or device identifiers. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Authenticate you when you sign in.
- Send transactional emails related to your account (e.g. sign-in links, password reset).
The legal basis for this processing is performance of a contract — your account cannot function without it.
Cookies
DashMeld uses a single session cookie set by our authentication provider (Clerk) to keep you signed in between visits. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and does not track you across other websites. No third-party advertising or analytics cookies are set.
Third-party processors
We use Clerk (clerk.com) to handle authentication. Clerk acts as a data processor on our behalf and stores your email address and name on our behalf. Clerk is GDPR-compliant and SOC 2 certified. You can review their privacy practices at clerk.com/legal/privacy.
News content displayed on DashMeld is sourced from third-party publishers. We do not share your personal data with any publisher.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission: dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of DashMeld after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
